The South Korea Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) is adopting various policies to speed-up the country’s migration from analog TV to digital TV (DTV).

MIC is offering consumers low-interest loans to purchase products supporting DTV and is pushing broadcasting companies to migrate to digital broadcasting. It is estimated that digital broadcasting will be available in every South Korea city by the end of 2005, with the required minimum digital programming rising to more than 20 hours per week, up from 13 hours currently...

HannStar Entertainment, a Taiwan-based distributor for two Chi Mei LCD monitors brands – CMV and PolyView – will raise the prices for 17- and 19-inch LCD monitors for the two brands back to their previous levels, according to Willy Lu, president of HannStar Entertainment.

HannStar Entertainment slashed the prices of the CMV and PolyView LCD monitors by 20-32% in mid-July, helping the company clear out excessive inventory and become the top LCD monitor distributor in Taiwan.
